Delete Account & Data
Last updated: July 2026
Scholar does not require or create a Scholar account. Your profile, classes, assignments, schedules, custom events, notes, study decks, flashcards, study-board content, progress, and preferences are stored locally on your device.
Before You Delete
If you want to keep a copy of your Scholar data:
- Open Scholar.
- Go to Profile.
- Under Your Data, tap Export My Data.
- Save the exported JSON backup somewhere secure.
Deleting data in Scholar will not delete copies you previously exported, saved, or shared.
Delete Data Inside Scholar
To permanently clear Scholar's locally stored data:
- Open Scholar.
- Go to Profile.
- Under Your Data, tap Start Fresh.
- Review the warning and confirm.
This clears your profile, classes, assignments, schedules, custom events, notes, study decks, flashcards, study-board content, progress, and preferences from the device, then returns Scholar to setup. This action cannot be undone from within Scholar.
Delete Scholar from Your iPhone
You may also remove Scholar and its local app data by choosing Delete App on your iPhone.
Do not choose Offload App if your goal is to remove all local Scholar data. Apple explains that offloading removes the app while keeping its documents and data, whereas deleting the app removes the app and its related data.
Depending on your Apple backup settings, an Apple-managed device backup may retain a copy of app data for a period of time. Those backups are controlled through your Apple Account and device settings, not by Scholar.
Scholar does not currently provide iCloud sync or store your school data in a Scholar-operated cloud account.
What This Does Not Delete
Deleting Scholar data does not remove:
- Files or backups you exported or shared outside Scholar
- Messages or attachments you voluntarily sent to support
- App Store purchase and subscription records maintained by Apple
- An active Scholar Pro subscription
Deleting the app or using Start Fresh does not cancel Scholar Pro. To manage or cancel a subscription, open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
No Account to Delete
Because Scholar does not create a user account, there is no Scholar account or server-side school profile to delete. If you previously contacted support and want to ask about deleting that correspondence, please use our contact page.
